This Logitech Z333 review highlights the features of satellite wired speakers (left and right) with a subwoofer in the pack. It comes to a couple of active units for building a 2.1-channel system that features a straightforward plug-and-play system. So, the AVR with its multiple setups is not mandatory to make them produce sound.
Each Logitech Z333 speaker has 7.56 x 4.25 x 3.54 inches in size and weighs 1.32 pounds. The sub’s size is 9 x 9.13 x 6.18 inches, and its weight is 5.5 pounds. This is smaller than many other subs from similar packs. On one hand, such a size makes it compact and easy to place anywhere. On the other one, it reduces bass. The control pod is 2.17 across and 2.13 high, weighing 2.5 pounds.
The pack includes a relatively long power cable of 59.06 inches. The pod’s hard-wired cable is 59.06 inches long. The right and left speakers’ cables are identical, having 59.06 inches in length. I should say this is not enough to place speakers anywhere in the room. So, the user should consider the cable length rather than the soundstage.
The Logitech Z333 2.1 speakers demonstrate high-quality audio performance regardless of content (movies, games, or music). The sub produces substantial lows, making the overall sound deeper and more expressive. It doesn’t overpower mids and highs. Besides, all the frequencies are well balanced, with clear highs even at high volume. The overall sound has no audible distortions.
The speakers have a single driver per channel and their total output power of 80W. The sub’s total power is 24W. Of course, this amount doesn’t shake windows, but it’s enough to deliver loud space-filling sound to a medium-sized room.
The Z333 Logitech speakers can be connected to a wide range of units, including PCs (Windows and Mac), TVs, gaming consoles, and mobile devices. Frankly speaking, I’d like to see Bluetooth connectivity in addition. The sub is fitted with 5-inch drivers and comes with a control pod to regulate bass and volume. Unfortunately, it cannot adjust the treble.
The Logitech Z333 speakers are made of plastic covered with black tight fabric. However, it would be great to fit them with hardened grilles to protect them from damage. The devices have front-faced big and small tweeters. The latter is decorative and doesn't serve any useful purpose.
The speakers are designed with bass control and 2 inputs to hook up a couple of devices at a time. A headphone jack, power, and volume knob are on the control pod. The separate heavy-duty volume knob is not typical for speakers. However, it works accurately, without a risk of an accident turning the speakers off or on.
The Logitech Z333 with 80 Watts are multimedia speakers that can become a win-win solution for a computer media center. Avid audiophiles may not take the pack seriously because of non-adjustable treble. Still, most users will consider this budget-friendly model or their cabinets and offices.
