The Logitech Z-2300 is an affordable desktop 2.1 speaker system that consists of two satellites and one subwoofer. It's a THX-certified model meaning that the speakers reproduce genuine sound with high precision and naturalness.
The satellites are 3 x 6.5 x 5 inches. The subwoofer is really big (11 x 11 x 15 inches) so it requires a lot of space.
The Logitech Z-2300 specs prove that it's a powerful system. It features 400W of peak power (200W RMS). The satellites include the Logitech's Phase Plug drivers that allow for accurate sound reproduction at all frequencies. The subwoofer has a large, 8-inch, 120W driver and a flared side port that together create fat, powerful bass. Both the subwoofer and the satellites incorporate large heat sinks that keep them cool.
The speakers were very easy to set up since they come with color-coded cables. I have tested the system with different types of content to check if it's really suitable for different applications (as it's claimed by Logitech):
For its versatility, I give the system 9/10.
The Z-2300 Logitech comes in a black and silver design. The satellites have a slightly angled construction. Thanks to that, they are able to deliver a more spacious sound that fills the whole room. They come with black grilles that can be easily removed. On the back of the subwoofer, you can find the D-SUB connector and RCA inputs for both left and right channels.
The subwoofer comes with a small controller, attached to it by a wire. It allows you to adjust the volume level of the whole system, control the amount of bass, and has a 3.5mm headphone jack.
For the design, this system gets 10/10 from me.
Concluding this Logitech Z-2300 review, I can say that these speakers are worth buying for 3 reasons: they have a good price-to-quality ratio, they are universal, and simple to use and install. Clearly, this system cannot provide the sound quality of studio monitors, but, as for a cheap option, it's totally worth it. Even if you won't like something in the sound out of the box, you can easily tweak it.
This way, if you're planning to upgrade your old, basic acoustic system, the sound of this THX-certified speaker system will really impress you — you will hear everything as you've never heard before. You also can listen to music at the highest volume level as there is no sound distortion.
