AOMAIS Sport II: IPX7-Protected Portable Stereo Speaker with Bluetooth 4.2
As a Bluetooth-enabled speaker with good portability and high-class protection, the Sport II model can be a good solution for resort parties. It’s also priced competitively and offers some features absent in other entry-level models. It has good capacity and passive sub backstops the low frequencies. The speakerphone function, pairing to another speaker of the same model makes other interesting options.

Dimensions
The device is quite small (7.61 inches) but slim (1.77-inch deep and 2.95-inch tall). It looks a bit bigger than a smartphone but feels considerably heavier (16oz) in the hand. The gadget features two 1.77-inch drivers, but it is also equipped with a passive subwoofer.
Features
The 2.1 system present in the AOMAIS Sport II has a total 20W capacity and sounds loud indoors. Outdoors, the sound is articulate within about 300ft. The subwoofer delivers a well-shaped bass, without noticeable blurs. Highs are also fine, while there’s a slight disbalance in the mids section.
The Bluetooth signal was strong and stable and kept that way within the 30ft distance. The gadget supports only 1 connection at a time, but the AOMAIS Sport II pairing is quite fast. It took me about 10 seconds to get the music play from my smartphone for the first time, and 3 seconds for the next pairing. Connecting the speaker via the AUX cable, I got a more detailed and balanced sound. With 70Hz for the lowest frequency and 20,000Hz for the highest one, the speaker delivered a full-body representation. This was true for the electronic sound and the “regular” voice-and-instrumental performance.
Accepting a call via the speaker, the audibility was fine indoors. Outdoors, I had to speak closely into the mic, and the caller heard the rain buzz, too. Good news that the rain didn’t affect the speaker otherwise. It continued to play loud and with a stable connection.
I didn’t try making a stereo set out of two speakers, but it’s good to know such a possibility is foreseen.
As for the battery, the AOMAIS Sport II manual states it has 2,500 mAh. For me, it lasted about 10 hours for different purposes (wireless and corded music listening, taking calls, changing volume, etc.). Charging it to a full level took about 3.5 hours. Another feature I liked was the auto-off after a 2-minutes idling period.

Design
The middle part of the gadget is recessed making it fit comfortably into the palm. The body feels rugged and non-sticking. It’s fully rubberized, with the connections (micro USB for powering and the AUX port) being hidden under a thick rubber cap. On the bottom, there’s the gold-plated screw-in for a stand that can be purchased separately.
On top, there are three LEDs showing working status, state of charge, and wireless signal. Behind them, there are 3 double-functional buttons (short press for a primary function like volume control and phone call, long press for playback controls) and a power button. The buttons take some effort to get pressed.

Conclusion
I’d recommend the AOMAIS Sport II portable wireless Bluetooth speakers for hiking, installing on bikes, going to the pool, the beach, etc. It’s straightforward and reliable, sounds powerful and loud. It’s lacking hands-free / remote control, and its mic properties aren’t brilliant. However, the speaker produces solid bass and beats and fits well for a small- and middle-sized party.
